How it all started
Founded in 2011, Hong Kong Harp Centre is based in Hong Kong and aims at providing a platform for harpists, harp teachers and harp lovers of all ages to share their music and experiences with this beautiful instrument. The Centre strives to pull the strings to foster a stronger and more inclusive community of harpists in Hong Kong.
Located in the prime area of Hong Kong, the Centre’s showroom showcases harps exquisitely hand-crafted by the expert craftsmen from Lyon & Healy and Salvi. To ensure and maintain the exceptional quality of harps in stock, frequent and regular visits to the Lyon & Healy and Salvi factories are conducted for harp selection. Harp tasting is free of charge by appointment.
Hong Kong Harp Centre is, of course, also a harp education centre. Its professionally trained harpists provide both lever and pedal harp lessons for schools and individuals, as well as harp ensemble trainings. It is one of the very first harp centres in Asia to provide Suzuki Harp Training, which enables parents to share their joy in harp music with their children, and to help them acquire the language of music. The Centre regularly organises a variety of harp events, including the renowned HarpyWeek®, Harpy-Summer Academy®, recitals, masterclasses, and other private lessons.
Apart from these, Hong Kong Harp Centre is proud of its fine and steadily growing collection of harp music scores, recordings, accessories, strings (Bow Brand) and harp ornaments.
