154 pages of exercises beneficial for all harpists. Written in Italian, this book is recognized as one of the best, and is required by many teachers. About half the book can be used on lever harp. Some of the exercise do require pedal harp. This book is a good resource because it takes complicated patterns and breaks them down into small and easy exercises which are very attainable. Once you learn these little exercises, you then have the tools to string small segments together into a more sophisticated, lengthy and complicated passage, thus enabling you to get a grip on the basics of virtuosic music. One complaint that we receive is the text is Italian. Classically trained harp teachers will likely be able to tranlsate without knowing the Italian language. The brackets, fingerings and hand images are self explanatory. However in the files of the harplist (a Yahoo Group), you can find the English translation – not the music notation but the text, which may be very helpful and save some time.
