Sarabanda e toccata

A beautiful two movement piece.The Sarabande is full of large rolled chords and has a lovely contrasting second theme which is played over a rippling base line. The Toccata is bright, fast and playful. Wonderful Italian neo-calssical writing from the composer of The Godfather filmscore. An original composition for pedal harp, this fun piece is a great addition to any pedal harpists repertoire, and would make a great recital piece for adults. Teachers might find it especially useful as a transition piece for students who are just learning their pedals. While full and interesting, the notes are fairly sparse and easy to play, enabling the student to concentrate on their footwork. There are numerous pedal changes throughout the piece, though seldom more than a single at a time, so the student is not overwhelmed. This tune incorporates bold chords with a minor feel, and a gentle yet driving beat .
